Our Teachers

Tina Maxwell Co-director

LMSW, DTR. Certified by Dance Teachers of America . Registered Dance Therapist & Licensed Social Worker

BA in Dance/Psychology, SUNY; Masters in Dance/Movement Therapy, Hunter College . Tina is a dancer trained in a variety of dance forms and styles, specializing in choreography. Her teaching credits include the Carol Bierman School of Ballet, Westchester Community College , Sleepy Hollow Performing Arts, and The Maitri Theater Project in Yonkers . Tina’s teaching style incorporates opportunities for creativity within the process of learning proper technique.

Elizabeth M. Carlson Co-director

BFA, Juilliard; MSED, Fordham , NY State Certified Teacher

Elizabeth trained in Modern Dance and Ballet at the Juilliard School , and then performed with Toronto Dance Theater. Additionally, she has trained in Modern Jazz and most recently, Tap. She taught children ages 3-17 extensively throughout Westchester County , since 1988, for the Steffi Nossen School of Dance, Croton’s Rec. Dept and CET’s After School Program. She currently teaches Dance at the Rippowam Cisqua School and has also taught Language Arts at the Karafin School , in Mt. Kisco . Elizabeth sees dance as an integral part of a child’s education and believes each child has the potential to experience its joy. Her choreography for local musical theater productions include: Cabaret, Kiss Me Kate, Annie, Les Miserables, and Oklahoma.

Guest Teachers

Suzannah Kincannon

Suzannah began her dance training with the Royal Academy of Dance in Greenfield, MA. She also trained in Sweden with a member from the Vaganova Ballet Academy of Russia. Suzannah has taught in a variety of public schools across the country, working with children from pre-school to high school.

Nina Tocantins

Nina trained at School of American Ballet then danced with New York City Ballet, and later, with Off Center Jazz Dance Theater. She has taught Jazz , Hip Hop, Tap and Ballet to all ages throughout Westchester and was a Director of the former Dance Connection in Mount Kisco.

AnnieDoss
Annie received her BFA in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College and also studied at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. She has also presented her own choreography at the Theresa Lang and Red Room Theaters, DTW, SUNY Purchase and Peridance Center. She is a founding member of DiMauro Dance and a Certified Pilates Instructor.. In addition she is a member of the Faculty at The Masters School.
